PRESS RELEASE

Bristol’s ‘Cycle David’ takes on all Goliaths!

Pembury Cycles will open the UK’s largest Cycle Superstore at The Junction, Imperial Retail Park, Hartcliffe, on Saturday 10th November 2007. At over 10,000 sq ft the new superstore will demonstrate the growth and importance of cycling within Bristol.

Pembury Cycles started trading out of Bishopsworth in 1933 and has supported local cyclists continuously since then. The business was bought in 2000 by Paul and Linda Miller, and has been subject to expansion through acquisition and utilising up to date management techniques. The business has grown from one store selling 360 bikes in 2000 to three stores selling 1750 bikes 2007.

Paul Miller, Managing Director, said “Feedback from our customers tells us that more people would take up cycling but were put off because of a lack of friendly and qualified advice, limited opening hours and poor parking. We have listened to these concerns and by using our experience and the introduction of the new superstore we can make the whole experience easy and a pleasure”. Part of our commitment to ‘Wow!’ customer service means we’ll uniquely have the UK’s largest ‘Try before you Buy’ indoor test track. Another Pembury first!
